All you get is annoying pop-ups constantly; it's just non-stop spam and distractions.
When you run a virus check, it is trying to give you the impression that you need to take action to prevent problems that do not exist. Just a scare tactic to get you on the paid plan.
The other thing I noticed is that many of the websites I like to visit, Avast blacklists them. What makes you the internet censor, Avast?
None of these sites I like are listed anywhere else as having a security problem. I reported all of them a week ago as false positives, but Avast has done nothing.
